Bacterial infections

Bacterial infections

If your child has an ear infection, strep throat, pneumonia or a urinary tract infection, a bacteria (germ) is often the cause. Your health care provider will choose the right antibiotic to kill the bacteria. You must use the entire prescription as directed. Your child may need more than one course of the medicine.
