Why sleep is so important to your heart health

[WCCO Radio, April 05, 2026] An extra 11 minutes of sleep a day can improve heart health, according to a study recently published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology. Getting that additional sleep, however, may not be as easy as it sounds.

Andrew Stiehm, MD, a sleep medicine specialist with Allina Health, was interviewed on WCCO Radio to discuss the importance of sleep, how it affects overall health and tips for starting the journey to better sleep.
