Heart-healthy eating tips from an Allina Health cardiologist

[WCCO-TV, February 16, 2026] A cardiologist with Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute joined the WCCO-TV morning show to discuss heart healthy diets. Ian Hackett, MD, encouraged viewers to focus less on what they should avoid and more on adding foods that can support heart health. He recommends spending more time in the produce aisle to incorporate raw fruits and vegetables into meals and cooking with olive oil, instead of highly processed, refined oils.
