Volunteer at River Falls Area Hospital

Volunteering is an excellent way to gain experience, learn new skills, meet friends and discover hidden talents. Many volunteers find giving of their time to be one of the most fulfilling activities they do.

Simply put, volunteering feels good. By taking an active role, you will get the chance to connect with others, share compassion and be an important part of your community. You will learn about others, while learning about yourself.

A long history of volunteerism

Volunteers have a long history of supporting the River Falls Area Hospital. In the late 1930’s, the City Hospital Guild was formed to help raised funds for the new hospital planned on property donated by the Ingram sisters. When the Sisters of St. Joseph opened a new hospital in the 1960’s, the Ladies Auxiliary of St. Joseph’s Hospital was formed. In 1975, these entities came together to create one volunteer program to support the city’s newly combined River Falls Area Hospital, and the River Falls Area Hospital Auxiliary was born. The River Falls Area Hospital Auxiliary supported the hospital for more than 40 years, voting in late 2017 to merge with the hospital’s formal volunteer department, creating our current volunteer program, the Volunteer Partners of River Falls Area hospital.
