Artemis’ Milk Depot

Second only to mother’s own breast milk, donated milk is a wonderful way for babies to receive the very best nutrition. Donor milk is often used as a bridge to help nourish premature babies until a birth mother’s milk comes in. Locally-donated milk is safely processed, screened and pasteurized for premature or sick infants.

How to donate milk

  1. Complete the online donor interest form at or call 847-262-5134 and speak with one of Milk Bank of Western Great Lakes staff members. After an initial screening, Milk Bank WGL will provide you with the complete donor application.
  2. Complete the application and return it to Milk Bank WGL via email, fax, or mail. They will review the information and contact your medical providers.
  3. Milk Bank WGL will arrange for blood testing at no cost to you.
  4. Look for an email with your donor number. Milk Bank WGL’s goal is to make the screening process as convenient as possible for donor moms.
  5. After you receive your donor number, make an appointment with Owatonna Hospital Birth Center. Please call 507-977-2455 to arrange your drop off to Artemis’ Milk Depot.
