Sarah Hochsprung — neurovascular and stroke nurse researcher

Sarah HochsprungSarah Hochsprung, RN, BSN, is a neurovascular and stroke nurse researcher for John Nasseff Neuroscience Institute at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. Sarah received a bachelor of science degree in General Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, followed by a second bachelor of science degree in Nursing from South Dakota State University.

Prior to receiving her nursing degree, Hochsprung worked for a number of years at HealthPartners as a market research analyst. After receiving her nursing degree, she started her nursing career with Park Nicollet Health Services as a staff nurse on the inpatient neuroscience unit at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, Minn. 

Hochsprung has been with the John Nasseff Neuroscience Institute Research Department since September 2015. In her current role, she is involved with industry-sponsored research studies, as well as Allina Health investigator-initiated research projects, primarily for patients who have had a stroke or for patients undergoing treatment for an aneurysm.

Hochsprung works on recruiting and enrolling research study patients, and subsequently manages their care to ensure proper conduct of research, as well as compliance with study protocol requirements. She appreciates the opportunity to become an advocate for these patients and their families, helping ensure their safety while participating in clinical trials.

Hochsprung also manages the accuracy of data collection and reporting. Her role is instrumental in improving quality of care, increasing patient satisfaction and promoting a patient-centered approach.
