As we celebrate our five year affiliation anniversary, I thought it would be appropriate to offer a report out on what the decision has meant for the delivery of health care in this community.

[Epic, January 27, 2020]   Six hundred doctors at Allina Health in Minnesota are using a price transparency tool embedded in Epic, its electronic patient health record, to have meaningful discussions with patients about what they’ll pay out of pocket for medications. A patient’s estimated out-of-pocket cost appears in Epic when a provider is ordering a prescription.

In the wake of rising concerns over the virus, the Minnesota Department of Health issued an alert earlier this week urging care providers to alert authorities about any patients with respiratory symptoms or fevers who recently traveled in Wuhan, China.
