Coronavirus cases in China have now reached more than 5,900. At least 132 deaths are reported in Wuhan, the so-called epicenter of the virus. According to
Dr. Frank Rhame, an infectious disease specialist with Allina Health, the virus is reported in 15 other countries and 'will continue to spread'. “Because this is a new virus, there are things we still do not know, like how severe the illness can be, or how well it is transmitted between people. It’s a rapidly changing situation that the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention is updating daily..
“If you have recently traveled internationally, especially to China and start developing flu-like symptoms, such as a high fever, cough or severe fatigue, it is important to see your doctor right away,“ said Dr. Rhame. Right now, there is no specific line of treatment for the Coronavirus according to the Allina Health infectious disease specialist.
Dr. Rhame also talked with KARE 11's Breaking the News program comparing the coronavirus with the current flu season. Watch that interview here.
