Pre-surgery physical exam

Before your surgery, your primary care provider will need to do a pre-surgery physical exam. The exam will evaluate your current health status.

Once your surgery is scheduled, please call your clinic to schedule your appointment.

If you currently take any medicines, make sure your doctor provides you with directions for:

  • taking your medicines the morning of surgery
  • stopping any prescription medicines before surgery
  • stopping any over-the-counter medicines (including herbal medicines) before surgery

Your pre-surgery physical exam needs to be done two to 30 days before your surgery.
