We are currently offering one PGY-1 position at Allina Health – Plymouth Clinic and one PGY-1 position at Allina Health – Hastings Clinic.

The PGY-1 Pharmacy Residencies conducted at Allina Health – Hastings Clinic and Allina Health – Plymouth Clinic have an accreditation pre-candidate status with ASHP.

For both programs, the retail pharmacy staffing will take place at the Allina Heart Hospital Pharmacy in Minneapolis, MN. Hours will be Monday-Friday during regular business hours. No weekend staffing is required.

As the pharmacy landscape continues to evolve, specialty pharmacy is becoming an increasingly significant area at Allina Health. We are excited to partner with the specialty pharmacy team to offer a comprehensive learning experience for our residents. This opportunity will provide them with valuable knowledge and hands-on experience with specialty medications, enhancing their ability to conduct effective patient care visits within primary care settings. As specialty medications play a more integral role in managing chronic diseases, this experience will be invaluable in preparing our residents for the future of healthcare.

Our program is proud to offer multiple elective rotations including Population Health, Antimicrobial Stewardship, and Cardiology. If there are other interests, we are committed to creating experiences for the resident to explore these through collaboration with the robust Allina Health Pharmacy Enterprise.

Senior Health Co-Care is an interdisciplinary team that provides primary care services within a patient’s home. The team is comprised of a physician, nurse practitioner, pharmacist, registered nurse, licensed social worker, and non-clinical care guide. Allina Health is committed to providing interdisciplinary, integrated care to patients across the health care spectrum. Care Management is a team-based, patient-centered approach that focuses on coordination and management of care for patients with chronic conditions. Clinical pharmacists play an integral role in Allina Health’s Care Management programs.

There are many opportunities throughout the year for residents to participate in education and preceptorship. Residents are invited to teach students who are completing an ambulatory care APPE. Residents deliver formal presentations to providers and other team members throughout the year. 

Hastings, MN is a charming town located along the Mississippi River with a unique blend of natural beauty and small-town warmth. The town is growing in popularity due to these characteristics, as well as its proximity to St. Paul, MN. The town regularly offers community events such as art fairs, concerts, biking/hiking paths and farmers markets.

Plymouth, MN is located just outside of Minneapolis. It is a vibrant community known for its extensive trails and parks, shopping and entertainment options, as well as close proximity to Minneapolis which has a wide range of cultural and sports venues.
