Allina Health, Jaspr Health partner for new suicide prevention initiative

[Pioneer Press, September 29, 2021] Allina Health and Jaspr Health announced a partnership Wednesday with the goal of reducing suicides throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

This partnership will include the use of Jaspr Health’s suicide prevention digital platform for people who are at risk for suicide and seeking psychiatric crisis services from one of the twelve emergency departments at Allina Health. Allina Health and Jaspr Health are developing how the process will happen, but the hope is that this service will enhance care for patients who are receiving treatment through one of the emergency departments.

“This partnership allows Allina Health to serve patients in ways not previously possible,” Brian Palmer, MD, Vice President for Mental Health and Addiction Services at Allina Health said in a statement. “In addition to expanding and improving the patient experience with state-of-the-art technology, we will be better able to engage with patients during a time of crisis through evidence-based interventions in our emergency departments. Our ED crisis clinicians provide outstanding care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and this tool will help them help their patients even more effectively.”
