Abbott Northwestern's Neuroscience Institute offers free support groups to patients and their families. We also offer annual screenings for stroke and hearing loss.
Abbott Northwestern's Neuroscience Institute and the Virginia Piper Cancer Institute offer a support group for brain tumor patients and caregivers. Social workers and clinicians gather to offer education and support to people affected by brain tumors.
The sessions are held on the second Thursday of each month from approximately 5:30 to 8 p.m. We gather at 5:30 for those who wish to bring a light meal for themselves. Cookies and coffee are served.

This monthly group is held at
Abbott Northwestern Hospital and is open to all brain aneurysm or AVM
(arteriovenous malformation) survivors, their families and their friends to
share resources and learn from each other. Topics vary according to the
needs and desires of the group. Doctors and other healthcare professionals will
present educational topics periodically.
This group is provided in
partnership with the Joe Niekro Foundation and Abbott Northwestern Hospital
Foundation. Meetings are facilitated by two brain aneurysm survivors. No
