Farm Credit organizations contribute $40,000 to support rural telemedicine

AgStar Financial Services, AgriBank, CoBank and United FCS made the contribution to Abbott Northwestern Hospital, part of Allina Health, in Minneapolis. The grant will enable cardiologists at Abbott Northwestern to remotely treat patients at the RC Hospital in rural Olivia, Minn., located over 100 miles away.

RC Hospital, Allina Health launch telehealth initiative

RC Hospital will offer a cardiac telehealth system with a portable ultrasound unit. The "game changing" technology will allow specialists at Abbott Northwestern to view a patient's heart and perform the kind of examination that previously could only be accomplished face-to-face.
