What do I need to do to become a Courage Kenny volunteer?

  • You must be at least 16 years old
  • agree to a background check
  • attend new volunteer orientation
  • schedule a placement interview
  • complete site and service-specific training(s)

Types of volunteer opportunities
Opportunities range from occupational and physical therapy and guest services, to support groups and adaptive sports and recreation.  

Special events
Short-term projects and one-time volunteer experiences such as adaptive sport tournaments, and fundraising galas and celebrations are also offered. If you or an organization you represent are interested, contact ckrivolunteerservice@allina.com to be added to our special events email list.

Internships
Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute is an active teaching institution. Many students from Midwest universities and colleges complete a volunteer internship for educational credit.

How much time is required to volunteer?

Your time commitment will vary. In general, we expect a minimum commitment of 2-4 hours weekly for at least three months. We also offer opportunities for placement into ongoing, long-term assignments.
