[KMSP-TV Fox 9 News, February 19, 2024] Mario Goessl, MD, PhD of Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute wants people to pay attention to their hearts. He joined Amy Johnson on FOX 9 News to discuss heart health.
Amy said her husband went in for a routine physical exam in 2015 and learned he had a five-centimeter aortic aneurysm and aortic valve disease which would require surgery. That moment led him and Amy to create Rock from the Heart, a nonprofit that uses music to teach people about heart health.
She and Dr. Goessl explained what aortic valve disease is, the symptoms that may be a sign that your heart needs a checkup and the importance of knowing your family history.
