Abbott Northwestern Hospital is the first in Minnesota to use new device to treat heart failure

[Fox 9 News, February 05, 2024] Allina Health’s Abbott Northwestern Hospital is the first in the state of Minnesota to use a new medical device that helps treat heart failure. The device is called Barostim, and it is used to help patients with heart failure feel less breathless and less fatigued. FOX9 News spoke to Peter Eckman, MD, a cardiologist with Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute, and one of his patients about how the device works and the difference it can make in the lives of patients.
