Full body scans vs. primary care visits

[KARE11 News, November 09, 2023] Some celebrities are singing the praises of $2500 full body scans that claim to help people find “silent killers” in their bodies. KARE 11 News decided to find out more about the scans, and enlisted the help of experts, including Benjamin Meyer, MD who works with Allina Health Cancer Institute. He says if you don’t have the money for the scan, don’t worry. Keeping up with your primary care screenings will help with early detection of illnesses, without the hefty out-of-pocket expense.

 “There are screening programs that we use for medical conditions,” said Dr. Meyer.  “And I would highly encourage people to just go with their primary care physician and get those done.”
