COVID-19 vaccine likely to become an annual shot like the flu vaccine

[WCCO-TV News, September 06, 2022] Americans ages 5 and up are now eligible to get their COVID-19 boosters and going forward, a single COVID-19 vaccine may be a likely every year, according to White House health officials. The Tuesday announcement makes clear that our communities will be living with COVID-19 for the foreseeable future. WCCO TV News and Fox 9 News talked with Allina Health infectious disease specialist Frank Rhame, MD, about the prospects of the U.S. moving to an annual COVID-19 vaccine, like influenza, and the possibility of combining the COVID-19 and influenza vaccine into a single dose.
