The invitation to make diaper donations is now extended to the greater community, as the CAC of Faribault hopes to serve as many families as possible affected by tight financial situations, health issues and other limitations. Faribault Daily News Reporter, Colton Kemp visited the CAC of Faribault to get an inside look at this life-changing community initiative and chatted with the CAC Food Access Program Director Michael Pursell (subscription may be required to view article).
The article reveals Pursell’s desire for the Diaper Bank to create a ripple effect in Faribault, as the Diaper Bank represents the beginning of a meeting a large need in their community. “This is not solving the diaper need in Faribault,” said Pursell. There’s so much more that we all could be doing, but this is a great partnership with Allina. It’s a great example of a community partner stepping up.” Allina Health’s Faribault Medical Center values this partnership and hopes to continue to extend the reach of the Diaper Bank to all who would benefit from its services.
With the Diaper Bank being open to families throughout the Faribault community, it’s important to note that families will be able to receive a supply of diapers up to four times a year per child. At the moment, diaper sizes five and six are in high demand. If community members seek to make a donation to the Diaper Bank, they can do the following:
• Prior to making a donation, call the CAC (507-384-3661) ahead of time to inquire about what sizes are available
• Make a donation of cash
• Donate unused diapers
