Allina Health resident creates FAST Heart app as teaching tool for medical interns

[MPR News, March 30, 2022] They say necessity is the mother of invention, and that's the case for Dr. Kirsten Shaw's creation of the FAST Heart app which she developed with her brother.

Dr. Shaw was an intern at Allina Health's Abbott Northwestern Hospital when she realized she would benefit from an app that holds ultrasound images of common cardiac abnormalities so she developed it. Dr. Shaw who is now a chief resident at Abbott Northwestern Hospital spoke with Cathy Wurzer on Minnesota Now on MPR. Dr Shaw will start her cardiology fellowship with Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute in summer 2022.
