Anti-vaxxers among top 'threats to global health,' WHO says

[KMSP Fox 9, January 17, 2019] Anti-vaxxers, or those who oppose vaccines, were deemed a top "threat to global health" in 2019 by the World Health Organization (WHO). The organization in a recently released list said that while vaccines are "one of the most cost-effective ways for avoiding disease," there are several reasons—including "complacency, convenience and confidence"—that are to blame.

Allina Health Clinics infectious disease specialist Dr. Frank Rhame agrees that vaccines are overwhelmingly safe and that anti-vaxxers are doing a great disservice to society.
