FARIBAULT and OWATONNA, Minn. (April 23, 2026) — Allina Health is pleased to share it has named Matt Wille, FACHE, MHA, MPPA as the new president of Faribault Medical Center and Owatonna Hospital. Wille brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in health care and community involvement to the role including five years as Vice President of Operations for Allina Health United Hospital from 2015-2019. He will begin his new role on June 1, 2026.
Wille’s Midwest roots run deep as he has served in a variety of leadership roles across multiple large health systems. Most recently, he worked as the Chief Operating Officer, North Region, for Froedtert Thedacare Health in Wisconsin where he helped expand access to care and grow services across both urban and rural communities. Prior to that he served President and CEO for Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Mich.

Wille earned a Master of Public Policy and Administration from Northwestern University, a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Iowa. He has served as a member of the Board of Trustees for the American Hospital Association and is currently a Fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives. He has been an active member of various community groups, including the Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce and community non-profits supporting organ/tissue donors and grief support programs.
Wille replaces Whitney Johnson, RN, MHA, who previously held the president role and is now serving as vice president of Operations at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
