How to talk to children about current events

Allina Health psychologist David Nathan, PsyD, LP, shared tips to help parents who may find it difficult to discuss current events with their children.

According to Dr. Nathan, younger children are more sensitive to the moods of the people around them and to changes in routine. He suggests acknowledging what is happening instead of ignoring it or being dishonest. Watch his interview with FOX 9 for examples of how to put this advice into practice.
