How to talk to your kids after a tragedy: Allina Health psychologist shares guidance

[WCCO-TV News, August 27, 2025] In the midst of grappling with a mass shooting that killed two children and injured 17 people in Minneapolis, many parents and caretakers are also trying to figure out how to discuss this tragedy with their children. It can be hard to help a child process something so awful, while trying to understand it yourself. With that in mind, Allina Health psychologist Sarah Paper, LP, PsyD, shared some suggestions to help adults and children talk about the tragedy.
