New guidelines on aspirin to stop heart attacks

[KSTP TV, September 15, 2015] A government task force says a daily low-dose aspirin could help certain people in their 50s and 60s prevent a first heart attack or stroke - and they might get some protection against colon cancer at the same time. United Heart & Vascular Clinic cardiologist Dr. Kenneth Baran says the new guidelines will focus aspirin therapy on individuals who will experience the most benefit and weed out those who might experience harmful side effects.
