Intensive Care Unit
It is our highest priority to provide excellent care for your loved one. Abbott Northwestern intensive care units (ICU) are recognized among the best in the nation. We appreciate the importance of your role as a partner with the care team. Every morning the health care team members meet to talk about your loved one’s plan of care and goals for each day. Your presence is welcomed and encouraged. These meetings happen between 8 and 11 a.m. Talk with a nurse if you have questions about your loved one’s care. They can help arrange a time to talk with your loved one’s doctor.
We have three specialized intensive care units.
- PB2000 is located on the second floor of the Piper Building, is a unit that cares for patients with medical/surgical needs. .
- H4200, located on the 4th floor of the Holmes Heart Hospital, cares for patients with cardiovascular medical and surgical intensive care needs.
- H6200 located on the 6th floor of the Holmes Heart Hospital, cares for patients with neurological and neurosurgical intensive care needs
We also have the only obstetric intensive care program in the Midwest, which provides critical care to obstetric patients with chronic or acute health conditions.
