    Midwest Fetal Care Center

    Midwest Fetal Care Center, a collaboration between Children's Minnesota and Allina Health, offers mothers with a high-risk pregnancy and babies with abnormal conditions a continuum of care that is among the best in the nation. From evaluation and diagnosis to fetal surgery and follow-up care, our fetal program offers mothers and babies all the experts and technology they will need in one convenient location.     Midwest Fetal Care Center brings together a team of highly trained experts in maternal-fetal medicine from Minnesota Perinatal Physicians and pediatric care that will support you and your baby every step of the way, from diagnosis to recovery.

    Genetic Program

    If you have a genetic disorder or chromosome abnormality and are pregnant or planning a pregnancy, our genetic program provides specialized care from a team of providers that includes a maternal-fetal medicine/genetic specialists, genetic counselors and nurse care coordinators.

    The genetic program can also provide care for women experiencing a pregnancy that is suspected to have or be diagnosed with a genetic condition. Learn more about the Genetic Program.

    Maternal Obstetric Medicine Surgical subspecialty clinic

    If you have complex maternal medical conditions or advanced surgical needs during pregnancy, you may receive care through our Maternal Obstetric Medicine Surgical subspecialty clinic.     • autoimmune disorders
    • cardiac disease/disorders
    • GI/Hepatobiliary compromise
    • hematologic disorders
    • increased BMI (≥ 50)
    • morbidly adherent placenta
    • nephrology concerns
    • neurological conditions – complex epilepsy; Para/quadriplegic syndromes
    • cancer diagnosis
    • chronic health issues including hypertension and pulmonary conditions
    • rheumatology concerns
    • thromboembolic history with need for therapeutic anticoagulation

    Morbidly Adherent Placenta Program

    For women who have been diagnosed with a morbidly adherent placenta, we offer comprehensive care that's provided by an expert team of surgeons and specialists in maternal-fetal medicine, critical care, urology and interventional radiology.     Obstetric Intensive Care Program

    Our obstetric intensive care program, located at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, is dedicated to critical care of women who are pregnant and is one of only a few in the nation. The Obstetric Intensive Care Program is a collaboration between Minnesota Perinatal Physicians and Abbott Northwestern Hospital intensivists and pediatric surgery and neonatal specialists with Children's Minnesota.     • endocrine emergencies such as diabetic ketoacidosis, thyroid storm, and adrenal crisis
