Cinnamon nutmeg waldorf salad

Heart Smart Gluten Free Low Sodium

This is a recipe for good gut health! The fruits contain plenty of prebiotics (a type of fiber), which“feed” the probiotics (good bacteria) in the yogurt.


1 medium apple, unpeeled, core removed and chopped
1 medium pear, unpeeled, core removed and chopped
1/2 stalk celery, diced
1/2 cup halved grapes
1/2 cup unsweetened dried cranberries
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup low-fat plain Greek yogurt
1 teaspoon honey
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
pinch ground nutmeg
1/2 tablespoon mayonnaise


  1. In a large bowl, combine apples, pears, celery, grapes, cranberries and walnuts. Toss until well-combined.
  2. In a small bowl, combine remaining ingredients. Stir until well-combined.
  3. Pour dressing (made in step 2) over salad mixture (made in step 1). Stir until salad mixture is evenly coated. Place in the refrigerator to chill for at least 1 hour.
  4. Enjoy!
