Smoky buttered noodles

Low Sodium

Whole-grain pasta contains the bran and germ of the wheat kernel, preserving healthful nutrients such as B vitamins, magnesium and fiber that are typically lost in the refining process (in regular pasta).

Ingredients

8 cups water
2 cups whole-grain noodles
1 tablespoon salted butter
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
2 teaspoons smoked paprika

Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring water to a boil. Add noodles and cook until pasta is tender but still firm to the bite ("al dente"). Drain noodles, saving 2 tablespoons of the water for later.
  2. Place noodles back in pan. Add butter and stir until melted. Add the saved water, parsley and paprika. Toss until noodles are well-coated.
  3. Serve warm.
