These spices give more than flavor to hot cocoa! Thanks to their antioxidants ("cancer fighters"), they help with digestive and heart health, and boost immunity too!
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon ground cardamom
pinch ground cayenne pepper
5 cups low-fat (1%) milk
1. In a medium saucepan, combine cocoa powder, sugar and spices. Stir. Add 1 cup milk, stirring, until sugar is dissolved.
2. Add remaining milk, stir and heat over medium-high heat until warm. (Do not boil.)
3. Pour into mugs and enjoy!
