Minnesota has one of the highest melanoma rates in the country. Melanoma is the deadliest form of skin cancer. As Minnesotans enter cabin season, it is important to take steps to protect your skin. Alexander Stark, MD, a surgical oncologist with Allina Health Cancer Institute, answered listener questions about skin cancer on WCCO Radio. He reminded the audience to apply sunscreen and wear protective clothing. UV radiation and sunburn are risk factors for the development of skin cancer, especially later in life.
