Quick thinking leads to lifesaving stroke care at Allina Health
[WCCO-TV News, May 03, 2026]
Mark Hassenstab says his wife’s quick reaction saved his life. She noticed the left side of his face drooping on what seemed like a normal Wednesday in October 2025. Because of her, Mark immediately sought medical attention at a clinic in Chaska. He was rushed by ambulance to the Allina Health Brain and Spine Institute at United Hospital in St. Paul, where he received a lifesaving thrombectomy.
Mark and Ganesh Asaithambi, MD, a vascular neurologist with the Allina Health Brain and Spine Institute, sat down with Susan‑Elizabeth Littlefield of WCCO‑TV to discuss the signs of stroke and the importance of seeking immediate help.
