Allina Health surgeons offer hands-on orthopedic experience for local teens

[KSTP TV, May 22, 2026] Surgeons with Allina Health Orthopedics gave local teens some hands-on insight into careers in orthopedics. For the second year in a row, the team invited Wayzata High School students to Allina Health WestHealth Surgical Center to handle robotic surgical equipment; practice suturing on bananas and use tools that help fine-tune procedures involving joints bones and ligaments. KSTP-TV interviewed Bishoy Gad, MD, an orthopedic surgeon with Allina Health Orthopedics, about the importance of hosting these types of events.
