Courage Kenny athlete completes Twin Cities Marathon

[Fox 9 News, October 05, 2025] For the first time, the Twin Cities Marathon allowed all mobility devices on the course, giving athletes of varying abilities the opportunity to participate. Joe Dailey called this a win for inclusivity and completed the 26.2 miles with his hand cycle.

Joe has been living with a spinal cord injury since 2002. He credits Allina Health Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute’s ABLE program, as well as the institute’s adaptive cycling program for getting him strong enough to not only ride in the marathon but to live as independently as possible.

Joe finished the course in under three hours, and he raised $2,500 in support of finding a cure for paralysis. Two news stations shared his story. You can watch his story on CCX Media here and the Fox9 News story below.
