“I’m so excited—I want to be the first patient to pick up my prescription,” Heckmann said, reflecting both personal enthusiasm and a professional connection to the project.
Having previously had to travel to the pharmacy at Mercy Hospital, Heckmann appreciated the ease of Allina Health’s pharmacy experience compared to larger retail chains.
“You just go in, get what you need, and head out,” she said. The new location cuts her commute by about 10 minutes and offers a more accessible alternative to the hospital-based pharmacy. The pharmacy is located right inside the main door of the Allina Health Coon Rapids Clinic.
Heckmann, who fills prescriptions every few months, also values the seamless coordination between her provider and the pharmacy. She says she trusts her Allina Health care team, which includes the pharmacy team.

“Pharmacy services today are more convenient than ever—free mail delivery adds a layer of ease for busy lives and the ability to manage prescriptions directly from your health care account means fewer hassles and more control. Most prescriptions can be set up for auto-refill to make it even easier for patients,” said Tim Gallagher, Director, Allina Health Retail Pharmacy. The pharmacy is open for extended hours and most holidays for added convenience.
Heckmann works in commercial relocation and helped ensure care for her community remained undisrupted during the Coon Rapids Clinic remodel. She is grateful to be part of something that benefits her and her neighbors.
The Allina Health Coon Rapids Clinic recently completed a multiyear remodeling project that refreshed patient waiting areas and clinical spaces. More than 86,000 square feet have been updated. In addition to the new pharmacy, the project also brought new services to the Coon Rapids Clinic, including dermatology, weight management and nephrology.
