Medical oncologist discusses the link between alcohol and cancer

[WCCO-TV News, July 03, 2025] New research says cancer deaths linked to alcohol have doubled in the United States. Allina Health medical oncologist Joleen Hubbard, MD, says alcohol is a carcinogen (a cancer-causing agent). While research into the link between alcohol and cancer is complex and conflicting, Dr. Hubbard suggests people should speak with their physicians about their medical and family risk factors for cancers linked to alcohol, such as breast and liver cancers.
