Allina Health is first in Twin Cities to use new device for stroke patients

[WCCO-TV News, May 16, 2025] Allina Health is the first in the Twin Cities area to use Vivistim, an implant that provides electrical stimulation to help stroke patients regain mobility in the upper extremities. Kay H. is the first patient to get Vivistim. KSTP-TV interviewed her and neurosurgeon Patrick O’Brien, MD, of the Allina Health Neuroscience, Spine and Pain Institute, about this innovative technology.
