Protect your skin! That was the message from Allina Health dermatologist Julie Schultz, MD, FAAD on Fox 9’s morning show on Monday. Her top tips?
- If you have a new bump, mole or lesion on your skin that is not going away, it is time to see the dermatologist.
- UV-protective clothing is a great option for sun protection.
- Get a new bottle of sun block every summer season so you don’t accidentally apply expired sun block.
- The most popular types of sunblock are mineral and chemical.
- Mineral sun blocks usually looks white and chalky when you apply it, which can be beneficial because you can see which areas you may have missed during your sun block application.
