Allina Health salutes its thousands of volunteers during National Volunteer Week

[Allina Health Newsroom, April 18, 2025] A warm greeting and guidance when you arrive for your appointment. Support and encouragement in reaching your sports goal. A wheelchair escort following successful treatment.

Allina Health volunteers create these special moments and many others every day.

“Volunteers are a vital part of our care teams,” said Jessica Hamel, director of system volunteer services for Allina Health. “They’re equal parts dependable, hardworking and inspiring — and we’re so lucky to have their support.”

Allina Health has nearly 3,500 volunteers who donated close to 168,000 hours last year. This contribution of time is valued at more than $5,600,000.

“The impact volunteers have on our staff, patients and communities we serve is immeasurable,” Hamel said. “We are better because of the volunteers who choose to serve at Allina Health.”
