First baby born at New Ulm Medical Center in 2024

[New Ulm Journal, January 04, 2024] Bradley Carson Moldaschel was born at 7:19 a.m. on Monday, Jan.1, making him the first baby born at New Ulm Medical Center in 2024! Because he was due Saturday, Jan. 13, his mom, Alysia, didn’t think her initial pain at home meant she was in labor. When her water broke, she rushed to the Emergency Department at 6:50 a.m., and delivered Bradley 29 minutes later without an epidural. Bradley weighed five pounds, 13 ounces and measured 19 ½ inches long at birth. He joins parents, Joe and Alysia, and his brother. The New Ulm Journal interviewed the family.

“It’s a joy to have him (Bradley) here,” Alysia said. “The way he came out was a blessing. If it had been any earlier, I could have had him on the floor of my home. He’s a healthy part of our family now and I’m so happy.”
