Allina Health team reunites after saving coworker's life

[KMSP Fox 9 News, January 25, 2024] A member of Allina Health’s maintenance and operation’s team  went into cardiac arrest on the job. Because of the quick action of his coworkers, he is alive today. Jim Svoboda is often on assignment alone, but he happened to be with his teammates at CKRI– St. Croix – Stillwater in October, when he suddenly collapsed and stopped breathing. His team jumped into action.

They performed CPR, activated the site’s emergency response and directed first responders to the scene. Thankfully, they’d revived Svoboda by the time he was transported in the ambulance. Jon Namyst, who is the director of the facilities team, says if Svoboda had been working alone that day, he likely would not have survived. Svoboda and the coworkers who saved him came together for an appreciation lunch in January. FOX 9 News covered the story.
