Allina Health New Ulm Medical Center welcomes new mental health clinician

NEW ULM, Minn. (April 21, 2026) — Allina Health New Ulm Medical Center is proud to welcome Alicia Meinzer, LICSW, to its outpatient Mental Health department. As a licensed independent clinical social worker, Meinzer emphasizes human connection and evidence-based care to support patients.

“I value the opportunity to support people through emotional, relational and life transitions while helping them build healthier coping strategies and stronger connections,” Meinzer said.

Meinzer provides therapy for people experiencing a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, and parent-child relational challenges. Through compassionate, patient-centered care, she works to help patients feel understood, supported, and empowered throughout their care journey.

“One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned from my patients is that growth is not linear and cannot be measured by a single standard,” said Meinzer. “Progress looks different for every individual, and honoring each person’s unique path is an essential part of the health process.”

The Mental Health department at New Ulm Medical Center emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure patients receive comprehensive support. That collaborative culture was one of the factors that drew Meinzer to the organization.

“I value working as part of a team, ensuring individuals receive well-rounded and coordinated support,” she said.

Outside of her clinical work, Meinzer enjoys spending time outdoors and staying active. Her hobbies include kayaking, riding motorcycles, and helping on her family’s farm.

To schedule an appointment with Meinzer, call 507-217-5168.
