Western Wisc. residents get expert heart care close to home

HUDSON, Wisc. (Sept. 1, 2026) — Patients in western Wisc. now have access to expert heart care close to home thanks to Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute opening its newest location in Hudson. The new specialty clinic, located on the third floor of the Hudson Physicians Medical Center at 2651 Hillcrest Dr, Suite 302 in Hudson, offers outpatient cardiology consultations and services such as echocardiograms (heart ultrasound) and stress echocardiograms (heart ultrasounds performed during stress tests, i.e., exercise). 

This offering expands on Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute’s existing Wisc. presence – in Baldwin, Osceola, River Falls and St. Croix Falls – and is part of its ongoing commitment to make cardiovascular care more accessible. Future planned services include a device clinic for monitoring heart implants such as pacemakers and care management for patients living with heart failure. Procedural and inpatient care will continue to be provided in a hospital setting.

According to a 2026 report released by the American Heart Association, death from heart disease decreased between 2022 and 2023 – from 941,652 to 915,973 (2.7%). While moving in the right direction, cardiovascular disease is still the leading cause of death, killing more people in the U.S. than cancer and accidents combined. This data supports the need for greater access to heart care.

Six clinicians will provide care three days a week – on a rotational basis – at the Hudson clinic. The team of Jenna Capizzi, NP, Ranjan Dahiya, MD, Scott Hubers, MD, Nick Pietrini, MD (starting in October), Tarang Ray, MBBS and Henry Riter, MD offer expertise in general cardiology, heart failure and electrophysiology. The number of days may expand as patient demand grows.
