MINNEAPOLIS (Jan. 19, 2026) — Allina Health Brain and Spine Institute has implemented Zeto ONE, a groundbreaking AI-enabled, comprehensive point-of-care EEG technology that will enable rapid seizure detection and neurological assessment at United Hospital – Hastings Regina Campus. This innovation eliminates the need for patients to be transferred to metro hospitals for EEG testing, allowing them to receive advanced neurological care closer to home.
Currently, if a patient has an active or suspected seizure, altered mental state or post-cardiac-arrest conditions while at the Hastings Regina campus, they are typically transferred to United Hospital in St. Paul to have an EEG completed. With Zeto ONE, patients stay local while their EEG results are securely transmitted to neurologists specializing in epilepsy/seizure care. Zeto ONE provides a complete brain map with enhanced diagnostic features including high-definition audio and video and real time AI interpretation, resulting in timely notification to the medical team so they can provide life-saving treatment instantly.
“This is a game-changer for patients and providers, and we are proud to offer this innovative clinical tool to increase access to expert care closer to home,” said Ram Sankaraneni, MD, FAAN, FAES, president, Allina Health Brain and Spine Institute. “Instead of transferring a patient to another location, we can now start an EEG at the bedside in about five minutes. This means faster diagnosis and improved patient experience. We hope to bring this technology to even more locations throughout the year.”
Zeto ONE is an FDA-approved, user-friendly headset and portable recording device that provides clinical-grade EEG readings within minutes. The system integrates video, audio and optional live remote interpretation by board-certified neurologists, supported by Allina Health’s robust tele-neurology services. The headset uses gel-free, dry electrodes which avoid the need for scalp preparation that may irritate a patient’s skin. It also allows for easier cleanup.
The first implementation will launch at United Hospital – Hastings Regina Campus the week of January 19, with plans to expand to additional regional sites throughout 2026.
