Adolescent mental health program at Allina Health Faribault Medical Center among recipients of generous donations

FARIBAULT, Minn. (Jan. 22, 2025) — The Faribault Medical Center Auxiliary made nearly $15,000 in donations to Allina Health Faribault Medical Center in 2024, including more than $900 in supplies to the Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program, which opened in October 2024.

“This program helps youth struggling with their mental health avoid hospitalization by receiving the support they need at home,” said Emily Keck, a mental health program assistant at Faribault Medical Center. “We teach our clients coping strategies to better handle symptoms of depression, anxiety and stress-related disorders.

Clients have access to a psychiatrist who evaluates the need for medication and any additional psychological testing. The Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program also offers a group therapy setting to help participants enhance self-awareness, improve coping mechanisms, and better regulate emotions. The supplies purchased with the money donated from Faribault Medical Center Auxiliary include yoga mats, art supplies, books and games – tools that provide clients with meaningful ways to use their leisure time.

“We are grateful for the Auxiliary's generous donations in 2024. Their support is invaluable and plays a vital role in supporting our efforts to make a positive difference for our patients, families and community,” said Brenda Kollar, Director of Operations, Faribault Medical Center.

Faribault Medical Center Auxiliary donated $14,726.14 worth of items to Faribault Medical Center in 2024, including:

  • CARE Channel access to all patient rooms ($8,445)
  • 300 Infant Sleep Sacks for the Birth Center ($3,564)
  • phone charging unit for Surgical Services waiting area ($459)
  • stress relief items for Emergency Department patients ($1,300)
  • activity supplies for the Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program ($958.14)
