MINNEAPOLIS (April 19, 2024) — Allina Health Pharmacy Services invites everyone to check their medicine cabinets and get rid of their unused medications on National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 27. National Prescription Drug Take Back Day helps Americans easily rid their homes of old, unwanted, or expired medications.
“Millions of prescription medications can be found in bedside drawers and bathroom cabinets every day. This may seem harmless, but in the wrong hands, they can be addictive and dangerous. A single tablet of OxyContin can be deadly for a child,” said JoAnne Myhre, drug diversion program manager, Allina Pharmacy Services. “We hope this event serves as a reminder that it’s important to safely get rid of prescription medications regularly, and we’re here as a resource at Allina Health Pharmacies.”
