Allina Health New Ulm Pharmacy receiving transfer of Winthrop Pharmacy prescription files

Employees with Allina Health are working with Winthrop Pharmacy Services, Ltd. to ensure a smooth transition of prescription files this week.

The owners of Winthrop Pharmacy announced last month they made the difficult decision to close on Tuesday, July 11 due to business and reimbursement challenges.

Winthrop Pharmacy has collaborated closely with New Ulm Medical Center and Allina Health Pharmacy over the years and has partnered to transfer existing prescriptions to Allina Health New Ulm Pharmacy on July 12.

“We are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible and to serve the needs of Winthrop and the surrounding area. We are thankful for Winthrop Pharmacy’s partnership and grateful that owner/pharmacist Ellen Anderson will be joining the New Ulm Pharmacy team and will be a familiar face to their current Winthrop clients,” said Tim Gallagher, director of pharmacy for Allina Health.

Allina Health New Ulm Pharmacy is a full-service retail pharmacy that offers prescriptions for all insurance plans and cash paying customers, online refills, no cost mail delivery, over-the-counter medications and friendly service seven days per week.

Allina Health New Ulm Pharmacy is located in New Ulm Medical Center, 1324 5th Street North in New Ulm and is open 8 am-7 pm Monday through Friday and 8 am-2 pm Saturday and Sunday. Pharmacy staff can be reached at 507-217-5808.
