MINNEAPOLIS (May 5, 2023) — Join Allina Health and Free Bikes 4 Kidz MN (FB4K MN) Friday May 5 at 4:15 p.m. at Stevenson Elementary School, Fridley, as we celebrate our 12th year of bike giveaways. Together, with the help of employees, volunteers and community members, we have teamed up to change the lives of children and their families by collecting, refurbishing and distributing more than 65,000 bicycles and helmets throughout communities in Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
“Our goal was to get more kids moving, and we did it! We are so proud of what we have accomplished together,” said Aimee Pappenfus, director, Allina Health Community Engagement.
After this year’s bike giveaways, Allina Health will transition its partnership with FB4K MN.
“We are constantly working to evolve how we support our community. The COVID-19 pandemic and Community Health Needs Assessments have shown us that the communities we serve have many health priorities, including mental health, combatting addiction and addressing social determinants of health,” said Pappenfus. “With that in mind, Allina Health is shifting resources to address those health priorities.”
Allina Health will continue to support FB4K MN in different ways, which will include financial contributions and the promotion of volunteer events. Allina Health looks forward to watching the many ways in which FB4K MN will continue to make an impact on the lives of children and families throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
