Allina Health receives high marks in Racial Equity Dividends Index Report

MINNEAPOLIS (June 29, 2022) — After participating in the first Racial Equity Dividends Index Report in the spring of 2022, Allina Health received high marks in five categories: culture, retention and advancement; procurement; products and services; philanthropy and investment; and public policy. The report measured Allina Health’s progress in becoming a more inclusive workplace and found that the organization currently “implements at least two-thirds (67%) of racial equity standards” related to each of its five high-ranking categories. Allina Health stood out among 40 other businesses throughout Minnesota.

“Our diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging work at Allina Health, is focused on fostering a culture that places equity and belonging at the forefront of our health care system to ensure our employees and patients feel welcome, supported and cared for,” said Jacqueline Thomas-Hall, vice president, chief DEI&B officer of Allina Health. “Allina Health’s scores in the Racial Equity Dividends Index Report reveal that we have both a responsibility and an opportunity to create long-lasting change in the areas of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging at all levels of our organization and in our community. The report recognizes the important work we’ve done and the strides our organization has made; it also shows us opportunities for growth in the future.”

Allina Health offers a number of impactful DEI&B resources, including a council led by its CEO, an operations committee and employee resource groups that empower employees to become advocates throughout the health care system and the communities it serves.

“Allina Health’s high scores in the Racial Equity Dividends Index Report build upon our unwavering pledge to advance diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging in the workplace as part of our commitment to whole person care,” said Lisa Shannon, president and CEO of Allina Health. “We will continue to redefine health care to create a brighter, more inclusive future by promoting respect and understanding, healing the injuries caused by systemic inequality and improving the health of our communities.”
