Allina Health Hospitals three of the best in Twin Cities, says U.S. News and World Report

MINNEAPOLIS (July 26, 2022) — Allina Health’s Abbott Northwestern, United and Mercy hospitals were ranked first, fourth (tie) and sixth, respectively, in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area in the new U.S. News & World Report 2022-23 Best Hospitals rankings released today. Abbott Northwestern was ranked first in the Twin Cities and second in all of Minnesota for the tenth consecutive year.

In addition to its Twin Cities and state rankings, Abbott Northwestern Hospital received national ranking in the specialty area of neurology and neurosurgery (#40). Abbott Northwestern Hospital also received “high performing” ratings in several other areas, including cardiology & heart surgery, diabetes & endocrinology, gastroenterology & GI surgery, geriatrics, orthopedics, pulmonology & lung surgery, and urology, abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, aortic valve surgery, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), colon cancer surgery, diabetes, heart attack, heart bypass surgery, heart failure, hip replacement, kidney failure, knee replacement, lung cancer surgery, pneumonia, stroke, and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR).

Mercy Hospital received high performing grades in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), colon cancer surgery, diabetes, heart attack, heart failure, hip replacement, kidney failure, knee replacement, pneumonia, and stroke.

United Hospital received high performing grades in ten separate specialty areas including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), colon cancer surgery, diabetes, heart attack, heart failure, hip replacement, kidney failure, knee replacement, lung cancer surgery, pneumonia and stroke.
